Yellowstone National Park draws millions every summer, but spring and fall—known as the shoulder seasons—offer a more relaxed experience. Wildlife is active, traffic is lighter, and the park feels more natural.
In spring, bison calves wobble through valleys and wildflowers bloom. In fall, elk bugle echoes across meadows. Both seasons avoid the July-August gridlock.
For fewer crowds and richer encounters, plan Yellowstone during its shoulder seasons. You’ll leave with memories of nature, not traffic jams.
