Chiang Mai, the cultural capital of northern Thailand, blends ancient temples with a vibrant café scene. A weekend here can balance history, mountain views, and coffee culture.
Start at Wat Phra Singh, then wander to Wat Chedi Luang with its massive brick stupa. In the evening, visit the Saturday Night Market for street food and handicrafts.
Take a tuk-tuk or songthaew up to Doi Suthep for sweeping sunrise views. Back in town, explore Nimmanhaemin, Chiang Mai’s café district, filled with specialty coffee shops and co-working spaces.
Chiang Mai rewards slow exploration. With temples, food, and cafés in abundance, a weekend trip can feel both inspiring and relaxing.
